In mid July, I had the great pleasure of stepping into the inspiring atmosphere of Pousada da Juventude in Almada as a keynote speaker for “Travel Different for Future”, a vibrant gathering hosted by MOVY that brought together digital nomads from across Europe.
Representing th2 – consultoria, formação e imagem em turismo e hotelaria, I shared insights on two themes close to my heart and central to our mission:
Photojournalism for Social Media in Travel (and visual narrative)
Storytelling in Tourism and Travel
In a world of fast content and faster decisions, the power of a well-told story—whether through words or images—remains unmatched. Together with an audience aged 20 to 60, all passionate about sustainable transportation and slow traveling, we explored how stories can move people, challenge perspectives, and drive meaningful change in the way we explore and relate to the world.
But the event wasn’t just about listening—it was about co-creating. Through writing workshops, group brainstorming, and perspective-shifting exercises, the participants dove deep into how travel experiences can be documented with depth, responsibility, and authenticity. The energy in the room was electric—full of reflection, curiosity, and new connections.
What struck me the most was how aligned this community is with th2’s values:
- Slowing down to absorb local communities, traditions, and the authentic self of each place
- Traveling with intention and environmental awareness—not just chasing "green destinations" but genuinely understanding the impact and contribution of each journey📱 Using digital platforms to amplify stories that matter (but also knowing when to disconnect—from smartphones, Wi-Fi, and technology—to be truly present)
As we look to the future of tourism, one thing is clear: we don’t need more content. We need better stories—stories that respect place, people, and pace.
A heartfelt thank you to Movijovem for the invitation, and to every participant who reminded me that the future of travel is already in motion—and it's thoughtful, creative, and beautifully diverse.
Let’s keep telling the stories that move the world.
